Decades in the making

I played Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards when I was young (of course) and did not know English anywhere near as well as today. So, when the rubber/luber "joke" came up, I didn't realize it was just a stereotype and believed for much longer than I am willing to admit that condoms were also called "lubbers". Fortunately this never came up anywhere.
