About this game
"Diamond Bird" is one of the first full-length Russian-language adventure games, released two years after "Tsarevna." It bears a strong resemblance to that pioneering work from the Krasnoyarsk team: its dull palette, ancient Russian motifs, and its origins in a less-than-central region. Apparently, Sevur Arts hasn't made any other mark on the gaming industry. However, the script was penned by a true professional—folklorist and local historian Konstantin Shumov from Perm University, and the game was published by the computer division of the Soyuz concern, better known for its eponymous recording studio and a chain of audio and video stores. Let's note right away that Diamond Bird wasn't a hit or a masterpiece: the game must have become a phenomenal rarity almost immediately after its release, and, unfortunately, it doesn't stand up to comparison with renowned foreign peers and genre colleagues. However, not everything is so bad, and at the very least, the Perm adventure is quite intriguing for a collector of rarities.
