About this game
A computer version of the Japanese board game of the same name.
Two modes are available: Pop Up Pirate, which is a classic game for 2-4 players, and Pop Up Pirate 33, which is considered a single-player game. The rules are also different.
In the classic game, players take turns sticking knives into holes in a barrel occupied by a pirate. The barrel can be rotated, choosing the hole of their choice. The player whose knife causes the pirate to jump is eliminated—there is only one hole for the pirate to lose, and it is chosen randomly each time. Then the knives are removed, the pirate jumps back in, and the game starts over with fewer players. The pirate also gets bored sitting in the barrel, and while at first he only winks, once many knives have been stuck in the barrel, he begins to feign being hit, get scared, etc. The winner is the player who hasn't stabbed the pirate at all.
