About this game
Outwardly, "Starting Blocks" looks, to put it mildly, clumsy. The CGA palette, presented at once in two of its most common versions, red-green and gray-lilac (unfortunately, you cannot change them: the first two disciplines are performed in the first set of colors, and the third and fourth, respectively, in the second), looks much less attractive than, though not so clear and familiar, but much brighter and more colorful picture from Amstrad CPC. Well, at least there are no problems with recognizing what is happening on the screen, and thanks for that. Sound effects are available, but as expected, they are implemented only in the form of rare signals performed by PC Speaker, and even then not in all sports.
