About this game

Strategy Games of the World consists of three strategy games:

* Nine Men's Morris (a game that dates back to the Roman Empire. Also known as Cowboy Checkers in North America)
* Go-Moku (Japanese origin)
* Mancala (oldest version of this game was discovered in Ethiopia 6th-7th century AD)

All three are based on traditional board games, although they may be unfamiliar to many.

In Nine Men's Morris each player has nine pieces, or men, usually coloured black and white. Players try to form 'mills'—three of their own men lined horizontally or vertically—allowing a player to remove an opponent's man from the game. A player wins by reducing the opponent to two men (whereupon they can no longer form mills and thus are unable to win) or by leaving them without a legal move.

Go-Moku is also called 5-in-a-row. The winner is the first player to form an unbroken line of five stones of their color horizontally, vertically, or diagonally.

Mancala is a count & capture game. A turn consists of removing all seeds from a pit, "sowing" the seeds (placing one in each of the following pits in sequence), and capturing based on the state of the board. The game's object is to plant the most seeds in the bank.

All games have a strategy coach to help you make the best moves and become proficient in the game.
