About this game

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang’s Adventure In Tinkertown is a 1997 licensed point-and-click Edutainment Game very loosely based on Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

Rather than having… really, anything to do with the plot of the Dick Van Dyke film, the game starts with a sentient Chitty crashing into a fence, prompting an airbag by the name of Otto to pop out and ask what the problem is. After a bit of discussion, it turns out that Chitty is looking for tools, as the engineering-themed locale that is Tinkertown has become a terrible mess- and these tools soon manifest, in the form of Rita Wrench, Slammer Hammer, and Screwie Louie. After fixing up Chitty, together, the tools, Otto, Chitty, and the player set off to Tinkertown to solve the town's problems and make repairs.
